Gossamer Threads acquired a new toy for our data centre – well it’s not ours, but we’re allowed to play with it! Take a look at our new Google Search Appliance!
Part of our managed hosting service includes the active monitoring of your servers. If ever there is a bottleneck or a slow down in your website, we can tell you exactly where it is occurring and how to remedy the issue. Our consultation also allows for you to anticipate growth, plan for the future, and handle the mass amounts of traffic that you might expect.
We’ve now added MySQL performance monitoring to give you more information at your fingertips, so you can know exactly what is going on with your site.
Magnify.net is a social media site, allowing users to create video channels and upload their own productions and clips. Users can even add a widget to their existing site, allowing the, “integration of user-generated video.”
What this means for readers is a specialized, targeted and most of all, relevant collection of video clips for their viewing pleasure. Connecting users to an overall message or theme has never been easier, thanks to Magnify.net.
Handling the Magnifty.net operation is quite an intensive load, however nothing is too big a task for the Gossamer Host servers!
It was a dark and stormy night…
In the dank recesses of an unknown data centre, a mouse quickened its pace as it scurried by. A K-Mart fan whirred, swaying left to right, performing its laboured task of keeping 20 servers “cool”.
It had started out OK - just three servers. The setup was easy, practically out of the box. As more and more were added, however, the lack of planning and foresight had created something of a monster - a cobbled together mess of wires and machinery.
Outdated machinery, tangled and loose connections, and inadequate cooling made the whole setup behave erratically; dropping connections and crashing as though it had a mind of its own…
